Optelos and Skydio Collaborate on Self-Driving Asset Inspection

Optelos, a provider of asset inspection software, and Skydio, a manufacturer of drones and a leader in autonomous flying, today announced a technological agreement that will benefit clients that use drones to augment their asset inspection programs.

By combining Optelos’ visual data management and AI power analytics platform with Skydio’s autonomous drone technology, organizations conducting asset inspections will be able to resolve concerns revealed by drone photography more quickly and efficiently.

Users of Skydio’s autonomous drones may easily upload data straight from the drone to the Optelos platform. The software then analyzes and acts on the data in real time. The integration of Optelos vision AI with automated dispatch enables complete automation of the whole process, resulting in considerable cost and time savings.

“This connection will assist businesses looking to further automate their asset inspection procedures while maximizing the value of the drone data acquired,” stated Optelos CEO David Tran. “The ability to instantly integrate data acquired by Skydio drones into the Optelos platform and act on it quickly to resolve inspection concerns adds tremendous value for our customers. The benefits of this integrated solution are evident, including the simplification of inspections for process manufacturers, cell tower inspections, and power utility inspections, among others”.

This solution plays a critical part in the asset inspection process, handling the acquired imaging data and performing automated analysis to swiftly detect and escalate issues to the client’s preferred platform. Additionally, the Optelos technology is capable of constructing digital twins of examined assets and performing comparative analysis to detect deteriorating and changing conditions over time.

“Skydio’s technological relationship with Optelos will be a game changer for process manufacturers, energy businesses, and cellular carriers who deploy drones for asset inspection,” Skydio CEO Adam Bry stated. “The combination of Skydio’s autonomous drone technology with Optelos’ visual data management and analytics platform will enable new degrees of automation and will enable those businesses to more effectively achieve their process optimization objectives.”
