Underwater drone for lifeguard in Lugano

LUGANO – From now on, Lugano Rescue will be equipped with a professional Chasing M2 ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) underwater drone. There are currently only two such devices in Switzerland, the other being at the Mittelrheintal Section of the Swiss Rescue Society.

The handover took place a few days ago in the presence of the Deputy Mayor Roberto Badaracco, the Member of the Executive Board of the Raiffeisen Bank (which provided financial support) Salvatore Parise, the President of the SSS Lugano Franco Zehfus, the Head of Operations Rinaldo Kümin, the Deputy Head of Operations and CTS Patrick Tempobono and the Cooperating Member Daniele Stefanini.

Some members of the SSS Lugano will be trained in the use of the modern drone and the device will also be available to other rescue organisations should they need it.
